Job summary

Comstock Elementary School is seeking a Behavior Safety Liaison to support student behavior and safety. The role involves working with teachers, administrators, and families to implement individualized behavior plans and ensure a calm and supportive environment.

The position requires a high school diploma with college credits or relevant experience, strong communication skills, and certification in UKeru or the ability to obtain within 30 days.

Qualifications

  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive student information.
  • Communicates effectively during crisis or high-stress situations.
  • Manages multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Knowledge of district/community resources for students and families.
  • Experience with de-escalation and behavior management frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized behavior support plans with teachers and administrators.
  • Help students build self-regulation skills and understand behavioral expectations.
  • Monitor student behavior in non-classroom settings and intervene as needed.
  • Respond to incidents calmly using de-escalation strategies.
  • Determine when to intervene directly vs. refer to administration.
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and support staff to review behavior data.
  • Communicate with students, families, and staff during high-stress situations.
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, staff, and community members.
  • Coordinate with community and district agencies to support behavior-change strategies.
