Job summary

Bledsoe County Schools seeks an Educational Assistant – Behavior Support to assist elementary students with behavioral, social-emotional, and academic needs. You will support IEP/BIP implementation, provide one-on-one or small-group help, and help maintain a calm, structured classroom.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; must pass para-pro praxis or have 2-year college equivalent.
• Experience with children, especially with behavioral or special needs, preferred.
• Training or willingness to be trained in behavior strategies and trauma-informed practices.
• Ability to stay calm, patient, and consistent in challenging situations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the implementation of IEPs and BIPs.
• Provide one-on-one or small-group support to students with behavioral and social-emotional needs.
• Use proactive behavior strategies, positive reinforcement, and de-escalation techniques.
• Support students in developing self-regulation, problem-solving, and social skills.
• Track and document student behavior, interventions, and progress as directed.
• Assist with data collection for academic and behavioral monitoring.
