Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Temple, TX is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide direct patient care in specialty clinics under physician supervision. Responsibilities include assessments, ordering labs, prescribing therapies, and developing treatment plans.

Strong bedside manner and teamwork with physicians and staff are essential for delivering high-quality care in inpatient and outpatient settings. Applicants must hold Texas NP license, active RN license or compact privilege, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Acute Care certified
• Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Texas
• Texas RN licensure or RN licensure with compact privilege
• Certification from an accredited board as an APRN

Responsibilities

• Assesses the physical and mental condition of patients by performing and obtaining comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and medical histories.
• Orders, collects, interprets, and evaluates laboratory and other diagnostic tests to assess patient problems and health care needs.
• Prescribes or recommends medical drug therapies or other therapeutic treatments. Performs procedures following approved protocols, focusing on efficacy, safety, and cost.
• Formulates and implements patient treatment plans based on assessments, evidence-based medicine, and standards of care.
• Counsels patients and families on medical processes, illness management, medication, nutrition, and health promotion.
• Maintains appropriate records detailing the patient's treatment plans and outcomes.
• Provides consultation level services for conditions/problems related to the Provider's specialty and training.
• Manages patients in a healthcare setting(s) other than primary clinic setting.
