Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Temple, TX is seeking a nurse practitioner to provide direct patient care in a specialty clinic setting. The NP will have prescriptive authority and work as an independent provider within supervising physician scope.

Responsibilities include comprehensive physical exams, ordering and interpreting labs, developing treatment plans, counseling patients and families, maintaining records, and coordinating care with physicians.

Qualifications

• Must hold Texas NP license and be credentialed as an NP.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire or transfer.
• Graduated from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients through comprehensive or problem-focused exams and histories.
• Order, collect, and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostics.
• Prescribe medications and therapies per approved protocols and care standards.
• Develop and implement patient treatment plans with physicians and team.
• Counsel patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and lifestyle.
• Maintain thorough documentation of care and outcomes.
