Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health seeks a licensed Nurse Practitioner to provide direct patient care in various specialty clinics across inpatient and outpatient settings. The role includes prescriptive authority, credentialing, and adherence to physician supervision and approved protocols.

The NP will work in settings such as Palliative Care, Pulmonary, Infectious Disease, Endocrinology, Cardiology, Dermatology, Urology, Nephrology, Neurology, Hematology, Oncology, Allergy/Immunology, Rheumatology,

Qualifications

• Texas NP licensure is required.
• RN licensure with compact privilege required (TX or compact state).
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Assess physical and mental condition; perform comprehensive or problem-focused exams and histories.
• Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and other diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe, recommend and/or employ medical therapies per approved protocols with safety and cost considerations.
• Formulate and implement outcomes-based patient treatment plans with physicians and team.
• Counsel patients and families on medical processes, medications, nutrition, and health promotion.
• Maintain patient records detailing treatment plans and outcomes; initiate referrals when needed.
• Provide consultation level services for conditions related to the specialty and training.
• Manage patients in inpatient, outpatient, or other settings (ER, procedural, etc.).
• Perform invasive procedures within scope and competency as delegated.
