Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Texas is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide direct patient care in specialty clinics. The NP will have prescriptive authority and work under a supervising physician.

Candidates must be licensed in Texas as an NP, have BLS, and be able to perform preventive and chronic care. The role covers inpatient and outpatient settings, with a schedule Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Texas RN licensure or compact privilege and Texas APRN license.
• Current Texas APRN license to practice.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Certification from an accredited board as an APRN.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the physical and mental condition of patients via comprehensive or problem-focused exams and histories.
• Orders, collects, interprets laboratory and other diagnostic tests.
• Prescribes or recommends medical therapies per approved protocols.
• Forms and implements patient treatment plans with physician collaboration.
• Counsels patients and families on medical processes, medications, nutrition and health promotion.
• Maintains records detailing treatment plans and outcomes; initiates referrals as needed.
• Provides consultation and manages patients in inpatient/outpatient settings as required.
• Performs invasive procedures specific to scope of practice as delegated.
