Job summary

The Structures Company is hiring an Electrophysics Engineer/Scientist 2 in Albuquerque, NM. You will assist in developing and validating requirements for electro-optical systems, lasers, and optical communications, and help design and test complex EO systems.

Role involves modeling, simulations, and potential clean-room work; requires 1+ years of experience and a Top Secret clearance. Competitive contract with benefits and ongoing opportunities in aerospace/defense.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance required to start.
• U.S. Person as defined by ITAR.
• 1+ years related experience.
• Education or work experience in Electro-Optics.
• Experience with EO including specs, tolerances, simulations, assembly and test of fiber optic sensors, lasers and telecom products.
• Experience in laser and EO systems and optical comms requirements development, integration, testing and analysis.
• BS in Engineering with focus in Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical, Computer Science, Data Science, Math, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent.
• Preferred: Zemax, CodeV or equivalent software for EO design/analysis.
• Preferred: EO/IR analysis experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and validation of requirements for electro-optical systems.
• Assist in developing architectures to integrate multiple systems into higher level platforms.
• Perform trade studies, modeling, simulation, and analyses to predict performance.
• Assist in designing complex electro-optical and laser systems.
• Develop and implement modeling/simulation techniques.
• Support product lifecycle with guidance to resolve complex issues.
• Support project management by preparing and presenting status data.
• Occasional work in a clean room environment.
• Apply EO principles to fiber optic sensors, lasers, and optical comms.
