Job summary

Chipton-Ross, Inc. is seeking an Optical Engineer (Level 2) for a contract opportunity in Albuquerque, NM. This onsite role supports electro-optical system development and test.

The candidate will apply experience in electro-optics, fiber optics, lasers, and optical communications to develop requirements, perform analyses, and contribute to system integration throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 1+ years minimum of related experience.
• Education or work experience in Electro-Optics.
• Experience with Electro Optical (e.g. producing specifications, tolerances, simulations, assembly, integration and test of fiber optic sensors, systems and components).
• Experience in laser and electro-optical systems and optical communication requirements development, integration, testing and analysis.
• Relocation to Albuquerque, NM if not within commuting distance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and validating requirements for electro-optical systems and components.
• Assist in architectures to integrate multiple systems into higher level platforms.
• Perform trade studies, modeling and simulations to optimize design.
• Design and validate tests to prove performance against requirements.
• Provide lifecycle support and project status updates to management.
• Work in a clean room environment as needed.
