Job summary

Insight Global in Albuquerque seeks an Optical Engineer to support development of high-performance Directed Energy and Electro-Optical Systems. You will develop and validate requirements for complex EO sensors, lasers and telecom components, and define architectures to integrate them into higher level platforms.

The role involves modeling and analysis, critical testing, supplier management, and lifecycle support from manufacturing to customer use.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering with focus on Electrical/Mechanical/Aeronautical or related field.
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Experience with Electro-Optics and EO systems requirements development and testing.
• Experience with Zemax and/or CodeV for EO design.
• Willingness to relocate to Albuquerque, NM.
• US Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
• Strong communication and collaboration across disciplines.
• Experience in fiber optic sensors and telecom products testing and integration.

Responsibilities

• Develops and validates electromagnetic requirements for electrical/electronic, mechanical and interconnect systems.
• Performs modeling, simulation and trade studies to predict performance and optimize design.
• Defines and conducts tests to validate designs against requirements.
• Manages supplier/partner performance to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Supports lifecycle from manufacturing to customer use and guides issue resolution.
• Generates major sections of proposals to support new business; works with minimal direction.
