Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking an Early Career Electronics Technologist for the W93 Firing Set & Surveillance group, onsite in New Mexico. You will join a team supporting design, development, testing, qualification and surveillance of firing subsystems used in national security programs.

Ideal candidates have an electronics background with soldering and laboratory equipment experience, and the ability to work from drawings and descriptions.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher in Electronics or related field.
• Ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support fabrication and testing of proto-boards, breadboards, cables, adapters, and PCBs with high voltage components.
• Perform soldering and inspect solder joints to standards.
• Troubleshoot electronic hardware and re-work boards to correct defects.
• Develop, build, repair, and maintain electronic systems.
• Disassembly operations on stockpile hardware.
• Work from engineering drawings and written/verbal instructions.
• Operate equipment, conduct tests, and report data.
