Job summary

Staffmark Group is hiring an Electronics Technician in Austin, TX. You will assemble, test, and troubleshoot advanced photonic curing systems and electro-mechanical equipment using hand tools and precise methods.

The role requires 3–5+ years in electronics assembly, strong soldering skills (through-hole and SMT), and the ability to read electrical diagrams. This position offers a standard M-F schedule with competitive weekly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • IPC-A-610 Certification required; additional electronics certifications are a plus.
  • 3-5+ years hands-on experience in electronics assembly or related technician role.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, test, troubleshoot, and validate electronics assemblies and electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Build cable assemblies, wire harnesses, and enclosures.
  • Populate and rework PCBs using through-hole and SMT soldering techniques.
  • Use diagnostic equipment like DMMs and oscilloscopes to verify functionality.
  • Support prototypes and communicate test results to engineering teams.

Pay Rate: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8 AM - 5 PM

Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree, technical diploma, or vocational training in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
  • IPC-A-610 Certification required; additional electronics assembly, soldering, or manufacturing certifications are a plus.
Experience Requirements
  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in electronics assembly, electrical assembly, manufacturing, or a related technician role.
  • Strong expertise in cable assembly, wire harness fabrication, PCB assembly, and electro-mechanical system builds.
  • Proficiency reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Skilled in through-hole and SMT soldering, including fine-pitch component work.
  • Experience using digital multimeters (DMMs), oscilloscopes, cable testers, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Preferred experience supporting engineering prototypes, electrical testing, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, Lean manufacturing, and high-voltage systems.
Physical Capabilities
  • Ability to lift and move materials, equipment, and components weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable performing repetitive assembly, wiring, soldering, testing, and inspection tasks.
  • Capable of working in manufacturing, laboratory, and test environments.
  • Ability to safely work around high-voltage equipment and approved cleaning chemicals while following established safety procedures.
Job Duties
  • Assemble, test, troubleshoot, and validate advanced photonic curing systems, electrical assemblies, and electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Build custom cable assemblies, wire harnesses, electrical cabinets, chassis, and enclosures.
  • Populate and rework PCBs using through-hole and SMT soldering techniques.
  • Perform functional, electrical, and quality testing using industry-standard test equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair assembly, wiring, and component-level issues to ensure product reliability and performance.
  • Support engineering teams with prototype builds, design iterations, and product development activities.
  • Document test results, procedures, corrective actions, and quality findings accurately.
  • Maintain compliance with workmanship standards, 6S/Lean manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the production of high-quality electronic systems while ensuring safety, efficiency, and customer-focused results.
