Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems Sector / Manufacturing seeks a hands-on Process Engineer to support the development, implementation, and ramp-up of a new electronics manufacturing facility in the North Alabama area.

You will help shape manufacturing capabilities from the ground up, including facility layout, equipment installation, commissioning, and process optimization across SMT, conformal coating, inspection, and automated test operations.

Qualifications

• BS degree with 2–4 years of relevant experience or MS with 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in Costpoint, Agile/Windchill or MES is a plus.
• Candidate should demonstrate leadership, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
• Residence in North Alabama or willingness to relocate to Huntsville, AL; US citizen with security clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and execute manufacturing processes for electronic products.
• Support PCBAs through SMT, Through Hole Selective Solder, Conformal Coating and related processes.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to develop hardware using the latest automated assembly and test equipment.
• Create machine programs and oversee execution of manufacturing activities.
• Coordinate with operations to complete assembly details and prepare for delivery to customers.
• Work with engineering, operations, and quality to develop processes that meet customer quality requirements.
• Partner with production control to meet the desired delivery schedule.
