Job summary

Leidos in Huntsville, AL seeks a Senior Process Engineer to lead the development, implementation, and ramp-up of a new SMT/PCBA manufacturing facility. You will collaborate across Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality, Facilities, and Operations to optimize workflows and equipment utilization.

The role requires deep experience in PCBA manufacturing, DFM, and Lean methods, with leadership of a team and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Requires a BS degree and 12–15 years of prior relevant experience, or a Masters with 10–12 years of prior relevant experience.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain final Secret Clearance.
• Experience with PCBA manufacturing and process development.
• Strong DFM background to optimize production efficiency.
• Resident of Huntsville, AL or willing to relocate to Huntsville, AL area.

Responsibilities

• Co-lead and develop the manufacturing engineering team supporting PCBA assembly and related processes.
• Drive continuous improvement to increase yield, throughput, and quality.
• Monitor manufacturing KPIs to predict trends and drive proactive process changes.
• Perform DFM/ DFA reviews and provide feedback to design engineering.
• Develop and implement new manufacturing processes, work instructions, and control plans.
• Identify and justify capital equipment for PCBA and related processes.
• Support root cause analysis and disposition of nonconformances.
• Partner with quality, production control and design teams to meet schedules and quality requirements.
• Support quality engineering in process development and onsite audits.
• Establish and monitor quality objectives for production processes.
• Mentor junior engineers in process development and RCA.
