Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an Electronic Components Engineering Specialist in Mossville, IL to design, develop and test electrical components for Caterpillar machines and engines.

You will manage ECM/ECU compliance, component selection, schematic reviews, and platform verification while collaborating with software, battery, and system teams to ensure robust integration. A degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering is required; advanced degrees are preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related accredited field.
• Advanced degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering preferred.
• Experience designing, developing and testing ECM/ECU components.

Responsibilities

• Oversee compliance with functional and environmental requirements for ECM/ECUs.
• Develop product requirements, perform analysis and simulation, select components, review schematics/layout.
• Collaborate with software, battery, system and machine teams to ensure platform integration.
• Negotiate with ECM/ECU vendors for development of systems and components.
• Investigate and troubleshoot ECM/ECU issues throughout development and production lifecycle.
• Mentor technicians and engineers in electrical/electronic system/component development.
