Job summary
Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an Electronic Components Engineering Specialist in Mossville, IL to design, develop, and test electrical and electronic components for machines and engines.
You will ensure compliance with functional and environmental requirements while coordinating with software, battery, system, and machine teams to deliver integrated solutions. The role emphasizes technical leadership in ECM/ECU design, component selection, and platform verification, with mentoring responsibilities
Qualifications
- Requires degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Advanced degree preferred for higher responsibility.
- Strong communication and collaboration across hardware, software, battery, and system teams.
Responsibilities
- Oversee design, development and testing of electrical/electronic components for Caterpillar machines and engines.
- Lead ECM/ECU requirements, analysis, simulation, and verification activities.
- Review schematics/layouts and ensure platform integration across multiple applications.
- Manage ECM/ECU vendor relationships and component development.
- Troubleshoot technical issues during development and production lifecycle.
- Mentor technicians and engineers in electrical/electronic system development.
