Saab AB is seeking an Electronics Commodity Management Professional to lead strategic sourcing for electronics across North America and abroad. The role emphasizes developing commodity strategies, supplier evaluation, and cost optimization within defense and security programs.

The candidate should have a strong electronics background, financial acumen, and leadership capabilities, with 8+ years of sourcing/SCM experience (or 6+ with a Master’s).

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Supply Chain Management or Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years with BA/BS, or 6+ years with a Master’s degree, of experience in Sourcing or SCM.
• Strong financial acumen related to sourcing and supply chain.
• Strong electronics technical background.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Leadership and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop commodity category strategies to drive continuous value improvement for Quality, Delivery, Cost, Innovation, and Sustainability within the supply base.
• Lead supplier identification, evaluation, selection, negotiation, and award of first-time contracts for new suppliers that meet multi-unit needs.
• Manage approved supplier list for electronics commodities.
• Support win business processes by vetting and onboarding critical suppliers.
• Analyze data to understand existing supply base and commodity categories and identify opportunities.
• Perform market research and risk analyses for electronics categories and others as needed.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine near- and long-term needs and develop adaptable supply chains.
• Lead supplier evaluations to understand supplier capabilities and processes, ensuring ongoing visibility.
• Conduct spend analysis to identify cost-reduction opportunities and drive related initiatives.
• Participate in Quarterly Business Reviews for critical suppliers to manage performance.
• Support Saab Inc. Small Business objectives and promote a diverse and inclusive supply base.
• Work with cross-functional teams to develop supplier evaluation and scoring systems for data-driven decisions.
• Develop or modify SOPs and work instructions to document processes.
