Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. in San Diego, CA, is seeking an Assembler to perform routine electronic and mechanical assembly at unit and module levels, following blueprints, ECOs, and diagrams. The Assembler will assemble and inspect components, subassemblies, and assemblies in a semi-routine environment while following established procedures.

Qualifications

• Must have 3-5 years of related assembly experience; levels vary by tenure.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong ability to read assembly blueprints.
• Able to use hand tools and measuring devices.
• Effective communication and basic computing skills.
• US work authorization and export-controlled information access.

Responsibilities

• Assemble components to a final configured product using instructions, drawings, and fixtures.
• Read and interpret assembly drawings and lists; suggest process improvements.
• Perform rework on test failures per standard repair procedures.
• Prep and solder components onto circuit boards; inspect and verify quality.
• Provide training and support to lower-level assemblers as needed.
• Operate equipment and follow lead's instructions to build units.
