Summary

Job Description

Perform diversified and complex duties to install, maintain and modify all electrical or electronic devices and equipment for machinery and computer software applications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Work from work orders, electrical or electronic trades practices, schematics, manuals and diagnostics to troubleshoot, repair and alter machine and electrical systems and components.
  • Draw schematics and layout circuits for upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot relays, starters, timers, ICS, SCRS, motors, programs and boards.
  • Install alarms, telephones, circuits and other building fixtures for lights, panels and power sources.
  • Edit CNC tapes, test functions and use diagnostics as needed.
  • Write bills of materials for repair and installation projects.
  • Research and source replacement parts.
  • Fabricate parts for electrical or electronic circuit applications.
  • Contact service or manufacturer sources for information to submit requests for parts.
  • Use electronic and electrical testing devices such as multi-meters, generators, scopes and precision gauges.
  • Operate power and hand tools, electrical equipment, HVAC systems, bench equipment and CNC machines.
  • Refer questionable conditions to supervisor or appropriate personnel.
  • Write and submit log sheets, work or parts orders, or other required documents.
  • Observe all company policies and regulations including safety, housekeeping and quality of work with support of ISO procedures and standards.
  • Utilize individually and/or further the use of total quality concepts, tools and techniques to support continuous quality improvement in all processes in which the position participates with a positive "Can Do" attitude.
  • Support, encourage and maintain a positive team working atmosphere throughout the company.
  • Perform other duties as requested or necessary to meet business conditions and changes.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE -

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or over three years and up to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply basic trigonometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
