Job summary

Valmont Industries is seeking a trainee in electrical or electromechanical maintenance to assist with preventative maintenance and repairs on plant equipment. You will learn to troubleshoot electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, and assist in installing distribution equipment in accordance with the National Electrical Code.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and enrollment in related technology studies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic understanding of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics and terminology.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints and NEC books (AC/DC).
• Must be enrolled in Electrical or Electromechanical Technology or related associate program.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electrical/electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Assist in replacing/adjusting mechanical clutches and drive trains.
• Install distribution equipment including switchgear, I lines, busways and cables per NEC.
• Record labor and materials used for each repair and maintain safety practices.
