Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. is seeking a trainee to assist full-time equipment maintenance personnel in preventative maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical systems.

You will learn trouble shooting, testing, disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of plant equipment, and assist in major repairs, wiring, and installation tasks in accordance with the National Electrical Code. The role requires climbing to elevated heights, operating lifts, and maintaining safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Must be enrolled in Electrical/Electromechanical Technology or an Associate’s degree program.
• Ability to climb and work at elevated heights (up to 80 feet).
• Basic understanding of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and National Electrical Code for AC/DC systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist and learn to troubleshoot Electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Assist with replacement/adjustment of mechanical components and installation of distribution equipment.
• Operate lift equipment including cranes, booms, forklifts, etc.
• Record labor and material used for repairs; maintain safe work area.
