Job summary

Valmont Industries in Valley, Nebraska is hiring a Trainee Electromechanical Technician to support preventative maintenance and repairs of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. You will assist in installing distribution equipment, wiring, and testing components while learning National Electrical Code compliance.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and enrollment in an Electrical or Electromechanical Technology program (or an Associate’s degree).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Must be enrolled in Electrical or Electromechanical Technology or an Associate’s degree program.
• Basic understanding of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical concepts.

Responsibilities

• Assist with troubleshooting electrical/electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Learn to replace components such as switches, pumps, cylinders and drive trains.
• Perform minor electrical work and repair of lighting and fixtures.
• Record labor and materials for repairs and maintain a safe work area.
