Job summary

Electromechanical Technician

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure all equipment (conveyors, cranes, refrigeration systems, fire protection, freezer doors, pallet‑handling equipment, dock doors, and other mechanical systems) is maintained according to supplier guidelines.
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance and repairs in a timely and safe manner with minimal impact on normal operations.
  • Communicate equipment downtime and maintenance schedules with Planners and System Operators.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical components.
  • Troubleshoot and fix problems with control systems, low‑voltage and high‑voltage electrical systems.
  • Operate machine tools (milling, grinding, drilling, etc.) to fabricate parts, jigs, and fixtures as required.
  • Operate cutting torch and welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, FSDA, and all relevant company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform testing of fire suppression systems, fire alarms, and ammonia alarms as required by local regulations.
  • Monitor ammonia refrigeration system performance and optimize operation.
  • Understand equipment service agreements and coordinate warranty claims, annual maintenance, and significant repairs with suppliers.
  • Report, plan, and track all maintenance and engineering issues using maintenance software.
  • Maintain accurate records of spare parts and tools in accordance with company policy.
  • Perform general facility maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, lighting, and other minor tasks.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2–5 years of industrial maintenance or related experience.
  • Hands‑on mechanical, electrical, and facilities maintenance background.
  • Experience with automated equipment maintenance (conveyors, automated cranes, palletizers, ASRS) preferred.
  • PLC experience is a plus.
  • High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree or equivalent training preferred.
