Job summary

HITACHI ENERGY USA INC. in Raleigh, NC is seeking an experienced Electrical/Mechanical Engineer to manage the full lifecycle of AIS and GIS substation projects from concept through commissioning.

You will produce single-line diagrams, layouts, grounding calculations, and cable design while coordinating with Civil, Secondary, and SCM teams. Travel up to 20% domestically and internationally is required; a PE license is preferred or obtainable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• 3+ years of electromechanical engineering experience.
• PE license or ability to obtain one.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Manage primary engineering activities across the full project lifecycle.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for Electromechanical Engineering.
• Develop base and detailed design documents and drawings.
• Drive the completion of all engineering activities on projects.
• Create work plans and cost estimates with quality deliverables.
