Job summary

Airgas in Appleton, WI is seeking an Electromechanical Repair Technician for field service and shop diagnostics. You will troubleshoot and repair welding equipment, motor drives, inverters, transformers and automated systems.

You’ll manage parts inventory and document work hours for billing, traveling to customer sites as needed. The role requires basic math, written and verbal communication, and the ability to work independently with a proactive approach.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of prior related electrical and/or electronics repair experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
• Must have general mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to plan a logical approach to troubleshooting and repairing equipment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of basic math and measurement units.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read manuals, schematics, MSDS and instructions.
• Self-starter; able to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Must be willing to travel locally and up to 10% away from home for calls and certification schools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical and control functionality of welding equipment.
• Repair engine drives, inverters, transformers and automation equipment.
• Maintain inventory of parts and required documentation for customer billing.
• Travel to customer sites for diagnosing needs and performing PMs and calibrations.
• Coordinate with vendors, customers and sales staff on repairs and parts.
• Maintain calibration and PM schedules for Airgas equipment and customer devices.
