Job summary

Re:Build Manufacturing in Boston is seeking an electromechanical prototyping technician to assemble complex prototypes, troubleshoot, and test systems under supervision.

You will operate lab equipment and basic machine shop tools, document build quality, and collaborate with engineers to iterate designs. A two-year degree or relevant training is required, and hands-on fabrication experience is valued in a fast-paced lab.

Qualifications

• One to five years of similar or related experience (level and compensation will be commensurate with experience).
• A two-year college degree, completion of a specialized certification or licensing, specialized training courses conducted by equipment vendors, or job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
• Proven experience building, troubleshooting, and testing electromechanical systems.
• Familiarity with hand tools, basic fabrication, and reading mechanical drawings or electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Assemble complex electromechanical prototypes and manage test rigs.
• Operate lab equipment and basic machine shop tools to solve assembly challenges.
• Assist engineering team by detecting errors and driving build quality improvements.
• Support day-to-day decisions and follow established lab procedures.
