Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced manufacturing engineer to support electromechanical hardware development across production lines. You will translate design intent into test-ready assemblies, apply DFMA feedback, and shape end-to-end manufacturing processes for high-speed rotating components.

The role requires strong GD&T and electrical/mechanical fundamentals, plus hands-on experience with production equipment and a bias toward producibility and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical/Mechanical/Electromechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related.
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering capacity.
• Direct manufacturing experience with electric motors or similar rotating electrical machines (alternators, dynamometers, traction motors, or equivalent).
• Demonstrated experience defining manufacturing process flows and selecting production equipment for electromechanical hardware.
• Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals including GD&T, tolerance analysis, precision fits, bearing installation, rotor balancing, and structural assembly.
• Ability to read and interpret both mechanical drawings (GD&T) and electrical drawings (schematics, wiring diagrams, interconnect drawings).

Responsibilities

• Translate engineering intent and drawings into fully functional electromechanical hardware ready for test, qualification, and deployment.
• Provide DFMA feedback to design engineering to optimize manufacturability.
• Define end-to-end manufacturing process flows from raw material through final assembly and test.
• Evaluate, select, and specify manufacturing equipment to establish production capability for new product lines.
• Develop manufacturing processes for high-speed rotating components and precision electrical-mechanical interfaces.
• Provide shipside/lineside support on the manufacturing floor for mechanical and electrical assembly operations.
