Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL is seeking an electromechanical manufacturing engineer to translate design intent into ready-to-test hardware. You will craft manufacturing BOMs, write work instructions, and provide DFMA guidance to reduce part counts and improve producibility.

You will define end-to-end processes, evaluate equipment, and support line operations for rotating assemblies and motor components. Strong GD&T and electrical drawing literacy are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• 2+ years of manufacturing or production engineering experience, including internships.
• Direct experience with electric motors or rotating electrical machines.
• Experience defining manufacturing process flows and selecting production equipment.
• Strong GD&T, tolerance analysis, and bearing installation fundamentals.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Translate engineering intent into manufacturable hardware and write BOMs and work instructions.
• Provide DFMA feedback to optimize manufacturability.
• Define end-to-end manufacturing processes from raw material to final assembly and test.
• Evaluate and specify manufacturing equipment to enable new product lines.
• Develop processes for high-speed rotating assemblies and precise electrical-mechanical interfaces.
• Apply mechanical and electrical engineering fundamentals to manufacturing challenges.
• Provide on-floor manufacturing support for assembly operations.
• Generate and close NCRs addressing dimensional conformance and electrical performance.
• Assist with manufacturing plans, build plans, schedules, and tooling lists.
