Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated is seeking a Maintenance Operative to perform diverse duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment in our Alabama manufacturing site. The role requires electromechanical experience, blueprint literacy, and adherence to safety standards.

You will conduct scheduled and emergency maintenance, read manuals and work orders, and collaborate with engineering on special projects.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in electromechanical or hydraulic systems.
• 1+ years of maintenance experience in a continuous operating manufacturing environment.
• Experience with PLCs preferred.
• Licensed forklift operator.
• Compliance with OSHA Health and Safety guidelines.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints; ability to use all hand and power tools used in hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to diagnose problems and determine replacement or repair needs; estimate materials, labor, and equipment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and minimal technical guidance.

Responsibilities

• Provide scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service and emergency repairs.
• Perform routine maintenance such as inspecting drives, motors, belts, fluid levels, and filters.
• Repair machines and equipment using hand tools, power tools and measurement devices.
• Service, repair, adjust, and test machines and moving parts.
• Perform fabrication including machining and general design and fit.
• Diagnose problems and replace or repair parts; test and adjust.
• Dismantle devices to access defective parts using hoists and cranes.
• Read manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance.
• Collaborate with engineering on special projects as needed.
• Assist in mold setup and weld steel when required.
