Job summary

Rockwell Automation, headquartered in Milwaukee, is offering a 10–12 week Development Technician Intern position. You will support engineering activities, perform testing on variable frequency drives, and use instruments such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.

The role requires pursuing a technical degree and willingness to learn in a hands-on environment. The intern will work 2–3 days per week on 1st shift, collaborating with engineers and technicians.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a technical degree required.
• Experience with power electronics testing is a plus.
• Willing to work 2–3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Learn and assist engineering in design, test, and fabrication of prototype electromechanical systems.
• Perform component, subsystem, and product testing per specification.
• Maintain and develop technical skills for testing and development processes.
• Use test instrumentation like DMMs, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and power supplies.
• Write reports, test plans, and documentation for experiments.
• Assist with development programs from concept to prototype.
• Support safety, housekeeping and lab procedures in a power electronics environment
