Job summary

Rockwell Automation offers a test intern position in Milwaukee, focusing on electrical development and firmware test. You will assist in circuit design, script automation, lab testing, and reporting while gaining exposure to the Connected Enterprise business structure.

Candidates must be pursuing an engineering degree, be eligible to work in the US, and be located near Milwaukee year-round. Preferred majors include Electrical Engineering; a GPA of 2.75+ is expected, with experience in Power

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree from an accredited college or university.
• Legal authorization to work in the US is required.
• We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future.
• Pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
• Must be enrolled for at least one more semester after the internship concludes (graduation date in December 2027 or later)
• Cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
• Experience with Power Electronics or motors
• Experience with design capture tools, Be able to work with schematic drawings Basic knowledge of circuit theory and operation, including microprocessors, digital logic devices, analog and/or DC-power conversion, programmable devices (CPLDs, FPGAs)
• Basic programming (C++, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript)
• Familiarity with tools such as CAD, Creoparametric, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), 3D Modeling, SAP, Matlab
• Experience with industrial automation environments including PLC or drives programming
• Experience using Agile methodology
• Located in the greater Milwaukee area year-round

Responsibilities

• Electrical Development: Research new or replacement technologies and components, assist in circuit design and component selection, develop test requirements and execute hardware verification test plans for board level functional testing, EMC validation, Certification Agency compliance (UL, ATEX, IECEX), and Functional Safety (IEC 61508).
• Electrical and Firmware Test: design and development of scripts for automating test procedures, documenting test procedures, execution of test procedures for verification of product functionality, creation of test reports, assist with lab audit/improvement activities, assist with build and commissioning of test hardware platforms
