Job summary

Marotta Controls, Inc. in Chaska, MN is seeking an Assembly & Test Technician I for the 2nd shift (3PM–11:30PM CST).

You will assemble and test electromechanical power and actuation systems, reading blueprints, performing soldering and measuring with micrometers/calipers, and ensuring quality per specifications. You will document results, support lean initiatives, and work in a fast-paced environment with colleagues across manufacturing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, or equivalent.
• Demonstrated mechanical/technical aptitude and abilities to conduct functional tests.
• Understand and work with blueprint drawings.
• Detail-oriented, able to work in fast-paced environment and follow procedures.
• Effective verbal/written communication with all levels of personnel.
• Computer literate with MS Office experience and basic PC skills.
• Must be a US Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Complete work as directed in compliance with technical specifications and regulatory requirements including mil-specs.
• Ensure products perform their proposed functions satisfactorily.
• Read and interpret documents (procedures, schematics/technical drawings) and use measuring devices to confirm geometries and dimensions.
• Solder, crimp and assemble electronic systems.
• Operate in accordance to ESD policies.
• Set up and operate tools for assembly (hand tools, test devices, micrometers, calipers, microscopes).
• Set up and operate equipment for building and testing (multimeters, ohmmeters, voltmeters, torque wrenches, dynamometers, load cells).
• Assist with testing equipment maintenance and repair.
• Conduct function testing, troubleshoot, rework, and document results.
• Maintain accurate parts and part counts and documentation for each job.
• Identify causes for test failures and perform rework with limited supervision; participate in corrective action.
• Document and support Lean ideas to improve efficiencies.
• Assist in packaging hardware per ESD procedures.
• Maintain hand tools in clean condition.
• Notify supervisor of any equipment needing repair.
• Handle and dispose of chemicals properly; wear PPE as required.
• Identify routing discrepancies and notify supervisor for changes if necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
