Job summary

Marotta Controls, Inc. seeks an Automation Engineer to design, implement, and maintain automated systems for aerospace motor production. You will drive production efficiency, ensure quality, and support equipment integration across manufacturing.

The role requires 4+ years in automation within manufacturing, PLC/HMI expertise, and familiarity with motor assembly. A US citizen is required for this position in Chaska, MN.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field.
• 4+ years of automation engineering experience in manufacturing (electric motor preferred).
• Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMI development, and industrial control systems.
• Familiarity with motor assembly processes and robotics integration.
• Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma experience.
• Strong knowledge of Ethernet/IP, Modbus, ProfiNet networks.
• Ability to communicate and manage projects effectively.
• U.S. Citizen required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in selection, specification, and commissioning of automation equipment.
• Design new automated systems and processes for new or existing products.
• Investigate and resolve production issues; implement efficiency improvements.
• Coordinate with suppliers to procure equipment.
• Assemble and test automation hardware.
• Analyze equipment layout and workflow for efficiency.
• Develop manufacturing documentation (ROUTERS, operation sheets, tooling sheets).
• Create electrical schematics, logic diagrams, and system manuals.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Production.
