Job summary

Analog Photonics in Boston is seeking an R&D engineer to design, prototype, and assemble advanced electro-optical-mechanical modules and assemblies. You will collaborate with other R&D staff on electro-mechanical development and guide technicians in operating tools and performing tests.

You will help identify local suppliers for high-grade prototype parts and establish relationships with external contractors and sourcing partners.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and assemble novel electro-optical-mechanical modules and assemblies.
• Collaborate with other R&D staff on electro-mechanical development.
• Establish relationships with external contractors and sourcing partners.
• Help identify and establish reliable, local suppliers for the creation of high-grade prototype parts.
• Guiding technicians to work effectively in operating tools and performing tests.
• LiDAR Mechanical and Thermal Reliability
• Help refine the product specifications based on product reliability requirements.
• Perform tolerance stack analysis.
• Perform thermal system analysis.
• Perform thermomechanical analysis.
• Initiate and communicate ideas for design improvement.
• Cooperate with packaging engineers to determine most optimal product packaging strategy.
