Job summary
Empire Bakery in Rocky Mount, Virginia is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician to maintain and troubleshoot complex machinery in a manufacturing setting. The role emphasizes industrial maintenance of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, including PLCs, HVAC/R, and precision measuring instruments.
You'll report to the Maintenance Manager, work 6:00 AM–3:30 PM, and support safety and continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications
- Experience in industrial maintenance within manufacturing facilities.
- Strong knowledge of PLCs, electrical systems (high & low voltage), hydraulics, HVAC/R.
- Proficiency with CMMS and field service tools.
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings for repairs.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and systems
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues using schematics and manuals
- Operate and calibrate precision instruments (ammeters, ohmmeters, multimeters)
- Maintain maintenance records using CMMS
- Repair or replace components including high/low voltage electrical parts and HVAC/R systems
- Inspect machinery to identify potential failures or hazards
- Support field service activities during production shifts
- Use scissor lifts and other equipment safely
- Follow schematics and drawings for accurate repairs and installations
- Support technical sales with expertise on mechanical systems
