Job summary

The Mennel Milling Company in Newton, NC seeks a maintenance technician to support production, quality and warehouse functions by maintaining and improving plant equipment and machinery. The role focuses on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, safety compliance, and continuous improvement of equipment reliability.

You'll work a 12-hour rotating shift, 5 AM–5 PM, with weekends and possible holidays. The position requires PLC familiarity, welding skills, and the ability to read blueprints

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must successfully complete the electrical test.
• Able to communicate and work with all employees.
• Experience in welding (resistance, MIG and TIG).
• Familiarity with PLC systems and ability to connect to system, interpret data, use program files for troubleshooting.
• Ability to create/alter logic to achieve results.
• Ability to generate/modify drawings to reflect wiring changes.
• Strong mathematical foundation (algebra, trig, statistics).
• Ability to use troubleshooting tools (oscilloscope, multimeter, calibrator).
• Technical ability to analyze DC/AC circuits, motors, relays, PLC control circuits.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety and GMP/OSHA/HACCP rules and keep audit-ready condition.
• Maintain and repair mechanical systems, bearings, lubrication, alignments, electrical controls.
• Read and interpret blueprints and ladder logic diagrams.
• Upgrade skills to stay current with technology.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer to coworkers.
• Maintain clean and safe work environment.
• Report unsafe conditions to supervision.
• Support maintenance and engineering as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
