Job summary

Andersen Corporation in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems on our manufacturing lines.

You will read schematics, perform TPM and preventive maintenance, and collaborate with engineering on design changes while upholding strict safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures. Strong problem-solving and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree or equivalent in related field, with relevant hands-on training.
• 5 years’ related field experience and PLC troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and prints.
• Proficient in PLC programming and troubleshooting machine controls.
• Strong math, problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent time management and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical drives, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
• Use tools to replace components, calibrate machinery, and restore operation quickly.
• Participate in TPM initiatives and preventive maintenance programs.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and prints accurately.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures and safety policies.
• Collaborate with engineering on equipment design changes and upgrades.
• Maintain inventory and assist with plant improvements.
