Job summary

Blue Origin's Honeybee Robotics team in Colorado is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician II to join our motion control hardware assembly group. You will contribute to mechanism builds and controller assemblies destined for lunar and orbital missions, working in a high-tempo environment.

The role requires one year of engineering or precision assembly experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to read engineering drawings.

Qualifications

  • Minimum one year working in an engineering field and/or precision mechanical assembly environment.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical and/or electronics hardware.
  • Working knowledge of standard mechanical electrical tools: torque wrenches, soldering irons, hand tools, etc.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, including mechanical assembly drawings, electrical schematics, interconnect drawings, and wire lists.
  • Ability to accurately follow detailed work instructions and document simple to medium complexity assembly processes.
  • First-hand knowledge and experience with shop travelers and production procedures and processes.
  • Extreme attention to detail.
  • Experience working with Quality Control inspectors and Quality Assurance personnel.
  • Ability to interface and collaborate with Manufacturing and Design Engineering.
  • Certifications: IPC J-STD-001 Space Addendum, NASA-STD-8739.4 Cable Harness Certification, NASA-STD-8739.1 Polymeric Application Certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Follow standard workflow documentation.
  • Follow standard workmanship processes in accordance with IPC J-STD-001 Space Addendum and NASA standards.
  • Soldering wire terminations, and splices.
  • Polymerics (epoxy) mixing and application.
  • Cabling and harness assembly and modifications.
  • Precision mechanical assembly using standard hand tools and calibrated precision tools.
  • Testing and validation of assemblies.
  • Fundamental problem reporting Non-Conforming Material Processing.
  • Provide feedback to leadership and engineering regarding updates to processes.
