Job summary

Nestlé USA is seeking an Electro Mechanical Technician to maintain equipment, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems, and drive reliability across the plant. You will work on a 12-hour rotating shift (5:00 PM–5:00 AM) on a 2-2-3 schedule, with duties spanning preventive maintenance and repairs.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED and a 2-year technical degree in maintenance, with strong mechanical and electrical skills, PLC knowledge, and CMMS experience.

Qualifications

• Strong Mechanical skills (Hydraulic, pneumatic & mechanical drive systems)
• Facilities maintenance experience (chillers, HVAC, docking)
• Welding, fabrication and machining skills
• Electrical skills (NEC, 480V) and industrial wiring
• Basic Electrical circuits
• Basic PLC / hardwire logic knowledge
• Test equipment (amp meter, megger)
• Motors, Drives, sensors knowledge
• Read/interp machine/electrical drawings
• CMMS/production workflow familiarity
• Self-management and prioritization
• Continuous improvement mindset
• Strong communication with operators and technicians
• Data analysis for maintenance optimization
• Team collaboration and accountability
• Ability to work off-shifts including weekends
• Internal/external certifications (e.g., Sanitary welding, vibration)
• Understand automated equipment operation
• Proficiency with electrical control systems and instrumentation
• Tool and diagnostics proficiency
• Operate/diagnose industrial control/distribution circuits
• Maintain Nestlé safety certifications e.g., LOTO, Arch Flash

Responsibilities

• Maintain factory equipment and anticipate failures
• Identify defects, execute maintenance plans, troubleshoot
• Work across plant areas including material handling equipment
• Understand power distribution up to 480V
• Support control systems, PLCs, sensors, drives, circuits
• Maintain electrical and mechanical drawings
• Utilize CMMS to document maintenance and create work orders
• Coach operators and assist with process improvements
• Drive reliability and line performance through data analysis
• Adhere to safety, quality, and GMP standards
