POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Electro Mechanical Technician oversees the facility, manufacturing equipment, machine processes, and related tooling. This includes assisting in scheduling repairs and projects, and collaborating with the site manager to improve operational efficiency. The technician drives activities related to repair, maintenance, upgrades, and installation of plant machinery, manufacturing equipment, facility systems, machine process controls, and tooling. They perform various technical tasks related to maintenance and provide support to Blow Molding and Injection Molding Technicians.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies while using resources.
2. Lead or assist technicians with work assignments, documentation, and downtime reporting in Guidewheel, in coordination with the Plant Site Leader and Operations Lead.
3. Contribute to the improvement of safety procedures and adherence to OSHA standards.
4. Coordinate with the Site Manager to schedule repairs, maintenance, and installation of equipment to ensure continuous production.
5. Evaluate work orders to prioritize tasks and allocate resources based on expertise and availability.
6. Consult with senior management to resolve maintenance issues and recommend improvements.
7. Assist in developing preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime.
8. Inspect machinery and equipment for compliance with operational standards.
9. Research alternative suppliers and technologies for maintenance work, balancing cost and quality.
10. Respond to emergency maintenance requests, diagnose issues, and recommend solutions to the Site Manager and Senior Technical Managers.
11. Participate in discussions on capital expenditures and recommend future investment plans.
12. Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies for projects.
13. Assist in training staff on best practices for changeover, setup, and operation of blow molding and downstream equipment.
14. Manage facilities duties such as landscaping, janitorial work, carpentry, painting, HVAC, roofing, and security, using internal and external resources.
15. Inspect building and equipment for repairs and maintenance needs.
16. Maintain accurate maintenance records and prepare management reports.
17. Travel within the company network to support other locations as needed.
18. Work weekends and evenings as required.
19. Lift and move up to 50 lbs.
20. Possess a technical or vocational degree/certificate and 10+ years of related manufacturing experience, or equivalent education and experience.
21. Have knowledge of advanced mechanical principles, electrical theory, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, OSHA 70E, and NFPA standards.
22. Be capable of troubleshooting mechanical machinery and PLC-controlled equipment.
