Currently, our Elk Grove Village, IL location has an immediate opening for a 3rd shift (11 pm - 7 am). The "Mechanical Technician-Electro" position offers an hourly rate of $30.73 plus overtime opportunities.

Doumak, Inc. is The Marshmallow Company, founded in 1921. It is a leading producer of marshmallows sold under the Campfire and Fireside brands, as well as private label products. Our Chicago-area facilities supply bagged marshmallows worldwide through wholesale, retail grocery, and food service channels.

At Doumak, you will be part of a small, dedicated team that encourages innovation and values teamwork, integrity, and diversity. Your primary duties will include:

1. Supporting production to manufacture safe, quality products.
2. Responding to repair requests for machinery and building equipment.
3. Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues and performing repairs.
4. Working from drawings, schematics, blueprints, and instructions.
5. Performing maintenance and repairs on plant equipment such as bagging machines, conveyors, and utility equipment.
6. Rebuilding gearboxes, motors, and pneumatic components.
7. Analyzing problems and providing solutions.
8. Unloading raw materials from rail cars as needed.
9. Performing scheduled preventive maintenance.
10. Assisting with equipment installations and upgrades.
11. Following OSHA, GMPs, and food safety regulations.
12. Availability for weekend work, overtime, and flexible shifts.

Qualifications include:

• Strong electrical maintenance skills, including 3-phase motors, VFDs, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with A-B ControlLogix is a plus; programming is not required.
• Industrial maintenance experience preferred; food industry experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of vertical bagging and scale equipment is preferred.
• Own tools and ability to operate forklifts preferred.
• Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and lift 70 pounds.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Proficiency in English; strong communication skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical and pneumatics operations.
• Additional skills like welding, piping, HVAC, etc., are a plus but not required.
• High School Diploma or GED required; vocational or associate degree is a plus.
