Job summary

BD is seeking a maintenance technician in Columbus, Ohio, to perform troubleshooting and repair of equipment, conduct preventive maintenance, and support engineering projects. The role includes managing parts inventory, wiring modifications, and PLC-related tasks, with potential overtime and off-shift requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, plus technical experience or an Associate’s degree, and strong skills in hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.

Qualifications

• Proficient in diagnosing equipment and performing repairs.
• Experience reading blueprints/schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Familiar with SAP, Excel, Word and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, diagnose causes and repair equipment.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Maintain parts inventory and support with ordering.
• Assist with installation of new equipment and IQs.
• Lead continuous improvement projects to reduce costs and waste.
• Test circuits with oscilloscopes, signal generators, meters.
• Modify and understand control panel wiring; work with PLCs.
• Train operators and assist with setups.
• Repair pneumatic and mechanical systems; manage spare parts inventory.
• Propose design changes with engineers to improve quality and reduce costs.
• Occasional off-shift calls and overtime may be required.
