Job summary

BD, a leading global medical technology company, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and perform PM on equipment at our Columbus facility. You will maintain parts inventory, support projects, and help improve reliability and reduce waste through continuous improvement.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, a technical background, and the ability to read blueprints. This is an on-site role with potential overtime and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of hydraulic, electric, mechanical and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Computer skills with SAP, Excel and Word are preferred; basic level.
• Ability to maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, diagnose causes and repair equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance (PM's) on equipment.
• Maintain parts inventory.
• Support engineering projects involving equipment installation and IQs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects to reduce costs and waste.
• Test circuits with measuring tools to locate defects.
• Modify and understand control panel wiring; review PLC programs with engineering.
• Train operators and assist with machine set-ups.
• Maintain spare parts inventory with central crib; troubleshoot pneumatic/mechanical systems.
• Propose design changes to upgrade equipment and improve product quality.
• Work off shifts on a call-up basis; overtime may be required.
