Job summary

BD is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Columbus, OH to perform maintenance on electronic and mechanical equipment in a cGMP environment. You will read blueprints, troubleshoot, and support engineering projects while ensuring QA/RA are notified where necessary. Strong mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic knowledge is essential.

You will train operators, manage parts inventories, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Flexibility for off-shift work is required.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Associates degree in a technical field preferred or two years technical experience.
• Reading blueprints and schematics is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, diagnose causes and repair equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Maintain parts inventory.
• Support engineering projects: ordering and installation of new equipment and IQs.
• Lead continuous improvement projects to reduce costs and waste.
• Test circuits and understand use of measuring instruments.
• Install and modify control wiring; work with PLC programs and ladder logic.
• Train operators and assist with machine setup/operation.
• Coordinate spare parts inventory with central crib and perform repairs.
• Propose design changes to upgrade equipment and improve quality.
• Occasional off-shift work and overtime as needed.
