Job summary

BD is seeking a maintenance technician to troubleshoot, repair and maintain complex equipment at our Columbus, NE site. You will support engineering projects, manage spare parts, and participate in continuous improvement to cut costs and boost reliability.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with an associates degree preferred or two years of technical experience in lieu. Occasional off-shift work may be required and overtime is possible.

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of hydraulic, electric, mechanical and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Computer skills SAP, Excel, Word; maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, diagnose causes and repair equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Maintain parts inventory and support installation of new equipment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects to reduce costs and waste.
• Test circuits and understand use of oscilloscopes and meters.
• Train operators and assist with machine set-ups and operation.
