Job summary

BD, a leading medical technology company, seeks an on‑site Maintenance Technician in the USA NE – Columbus. You will read blueprints, diagnose, repair and perform preventative maintenance on electronic and mechanical equipment, ensuring cGMP compliance and adherence to quality systems.

You’ll support engineering projects, manage parts inventory, and train operators while collaborating with Controls and tool room teams. Flexibility for overtime and off‑shift support is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates Degree in a technical field preferred.
• In lieu of Associates Degree, two years technical experience required.
• Proficient in reading blueprints and schematics.
• Knowledge of SAP, Excel and Word is a plus.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, diagnose causes and repair equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Maintain parts inventory.
• Support engineering projects—ordering and installing new equipment.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs and waste.
• Test electronic circuits with oscilloscopes and meters.
• Install/modify control panel wiring and PLC logic with Controls group.
• Train operators and assist with machine set-ups.
• Collaborate with tool room to repair pneumatic and mechanical systems.
• Propose design changes to upgrade equipment and improve quality.
