Job summary
US Foods is seeking an Electro Mechanical Facilities Technician in Wixom, MI to maintain warehouse equipment including pallet jacks, forklifts, and highlifts. The role focuses on electrical systems, motors, VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding, with preventive maintenance and safety compliance responsibilities.
Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairing, and improving automated material handling systems, reading schematics, and keeping CMMS work orders up
Qualifications
- High School education or equivalent preferred; additional mechanic training or trade school degree preferred.
- Minimum of six months previous mechanic experience required.
- Knowledge of equipment repair and operation; welding ability; reading schematics.
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and maintenance to warehouse equipment (pallet jacks, highlifts, forklifts, etc.) to ensure uptime.
- Review equipment reports, log actions taken, and maintain a repair log.
- Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) and maintain PM logs per policy.
- Follow safety guidelines (Lock Out/Tag Out, placarding, and documentation).
- Maintain and secure the battery-charging area and related equipment.
- Support tools inventory and safe operation of shop area; assist with basic repairs.
