Job summary

Wismettac Asian Foods, Inc. seeks a Maintenance Worker to perform skilled maintenance on warehouse equipment (pallet jack, forklifts, batteries) and to maintain electrical, plumbing, and cleanliness of departments. The role requires inspecting doors, pallets, and performing light troubleshooting under supervision.

The candidate should read manuals, interpret drawings, and lift up to 50 pounds, with ability to work extended hours. Forklifts and power tools experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of equipment operation.
• Knowledge of mechanics and electricity.
• Reads and interprets simple mechanical drawings, electrical labels, and operating manuals.
• Able to read and write legibly; basic mathematical skills.
• Able to work with little direct supervision.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.
• Ability to operate maintenance power equipment, hand tools, forklifts and pallet jacks.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on buildings, facilities, and grounds independently or with assistance.
• Ensure equipment operates safely and is maintained per schedule.
• Inspect doors, roll-up doors and curtains; address issues.
• Inspect and hand sort wooden pallets in designated area.
• Paint parking lot and warehouse lines as needed.
• Purchase and pick up needed tools with proper approval.
• Follow food-safety guidelines and company policies.
• Maintain tool inventory and organize workspace.
• Read work orders and manuals to perform maintenance tasks.
• Document preventative maintenance logs as per policy.
• Coordinate with external calibration/maintenance services.
• Other duties as assigned.
