Job summary

US Foods is seeking an Electro Mechanical Facilities Technician in Wixom, MI to maintain warehouse equipment including pallet jacks, forklifts, and highlifts. The role focuses on electrical systems, motors, VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding, with preventive maintenance and safety compliance responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • High School education or equivalent preferred; additional mechanic training or trade school degree preferred.
  • Minimum of six months previous mechanic experience required.
  • Knowledge of equipment repair and operation; welding ability; reading schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and maintenance to warehouse equipment (pallet jacks, highlifts, forklifts, etc.) to ensure uptime.
  • Review equipment reports, log actions taken, and maintain a repair log.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) and maintain PM logs per policy.
  • Follow safety guidelines (Lock Out/Tag Out, placarding, and documentation).
  • Maintain and secure the battery-charging area and related equipment.
  • Support tools inventory and safe operation of shop area; assist with basic repairs.

This keeps day and night warehouse operations functional to ensure efficient shipping and receiving of product.**JOIN THE US FOODS TEAM!**Ready to build a career with a company that’s leading the foodservice industry?**$28 - $34/hour (based on experience)******.******Weekly Pay.****Monday - Frida**y. 6:00am – 2:30pm.**Shift could change based on business needs.** **Overtime/emergency response as needed.**Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve automated material handlingequipment and industrial machinery with emphasis on electrical systems, conveyors, motors, VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding.PLC-controlled equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding.Preventive/corrective maintenance; troubleshoot 24VDC–480V electrical systems; repair conveyors, motors, gearboxes, bearings, chains, belts; diagnose VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment and sensors; read schematics; perform welding/fabrication; complete CMMS work orders; follow OSHA/NFPA70E/LOTO.Climb ladders, work in industrial environment.**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** Perform necessary repairs and maintenance to warehouse-related equipment (i.e. pallet jacks, highlifts, forklifts, etc.) to insure that adequate machinery is available for day and night warehouse operations. Review any equipment reports submitted by warehouse associates, record actions/repairs taken, and maintains a repair log per USF policy. Perform PM’s (Preventative Maintenance) on equipment, and maintain PM log with proper documentation, per USF policy. Comply with all USF and government guidelines regarding safety when working on equipment (i.e. Lock Out/Tag Out, placarding and required documentation, safe work environment, etc.) Maintain and secure the battery-charging area, batteries and other equipment contained therein. Responsible for company tools and maintenance equipment used in performance of job duties, including inventory maintenance, safe operation, proper storage, and security of tool area. If authorized, may purchase tools and other equipment needs from local vendors to perform required duties.Performs light maintenance duties as assigned (i.e., replacement of light bulbs, painting, storage rack repairs, light plumbing, equipment repairs, basic drywall and concrete repairs, etc.)SUPERVISION RELATIONSHIPS Internal: Warehouse personnel and supervisory staff, Operations support, Maintenance and Sanitation personnel External: Outside vendors QUALIFICATIONS Education/Training: High School education or equivalent preferred; additional mechanic training or trade school degree preferred.
