Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform electro-mechanical work, test, install, start-up and demonstrate BW Converting equipment, while training customer personnel on operation and maintenance at the customer site.

The role requires installing and upgrading machines, setting up and operating equipment, and providing technical support. Travel up to 50% is required; close collaboration with engineers and customers is essential to ensure safe, reliable operations.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical and/or electrical skill set.
• Experience with paper/converting industries a plus.
• Knowledge of PLC systems is preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, and demonstrate BW converting equipment per drawings and manuals.
• Set up machinery and train customer operators.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance and diagnose root causes.
• Coordinate with installation team and customers on site.
• Maintain safety and documentation during field work.
