Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller Paper Converting Machine Company is seeking an Electrical Field Service Technician to perform electrical and controls field service on envelope converting equipment. You will test, install, start up and demonstrate PLC/servo-driven machines, train customers, and provide ongoing technical support both on-site and remotely.

The role requires strong electrical/controls knowledge, the ability to troubleshoot PLC/servo systems, and travel up to 50% to customer facilities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical/Electro-Mechanical Technology required.
• BS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• 18+ years old at time of hire.
• Strong electrical and controls skills; PLC and servo troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Install envelope converting machines per drawings and specs.
• Set up and operate equipment; train operators.
• Perform routine and emergency electrical service; diagnose root causes.
• Assist installation meetings and audits at customer facilities.
• Report quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain safety and customer relationships.
• Prepare reports as required.
